Recovery Effects Endless Summer Spring Reverb Seems that we have a bit of a theme starting off this week, as yesterday and today’s pedal builders (Dreadbox and Recovery Effects) both take a super-unique and creative approach to how they make their effects, and who both continue to amaze with each new creation. The Endless Summer MkII Hand-Wired Real Spring Reverb may SEEM to be a simple pedal, but there is so much going on in just two controls, we could hardly believe it. Truly a reverb pedal like no other we have encountered, this will take everything you thought you knew about effects and throw it right into the trash, so you can start clean and accept what comes next.

The Brightness control knob lets you dial in how much or how little color and depth you want the Endless Summer to produce, but the true standout control (well, the only other one, to be exact) is the Balance knob. With a range almost bigger than any other control knob we’ve come across, you start with a splashy, semi-boosted reverb when turned counterclockwise…and then the fun really begins. The rest of the range here goes from slightly dirty and gritty to powerful and scary to downright crazy, creating sounds and effects that you would never assume could come out of a reverb pedal, much less one with so few control options. A truly one-of-kind kind of pedal, this is an experimenter’s dream, and one that is not for the faint of heart.

Using point-to-point hand wired, with no printed circuit board, true bypass switching and lead-free solder, Graig Markel and Recovery Effects use the highest-quality components they can get their hands on, and it shows in the sounds and structure of their pedals. Being so unique and impressive, the Endless Summer is one you have to play in person to attempt and tame its power, but if you want a glimpse of what it can do, be sure to check out the video below. We’re always wowed by Graig’s effect creations, and we can’t wait to review and demo more in the future, so check back with us soon, and in the meantime, keep on checking out our other reviews, and discover a whole new effects-laden world you never knew existed.
