We love seeing a new company burst onto the scene, fresh with new ideas and full of gusto about their new adventures, and today’s pedal comes to us from one such company. Ohm Made Electronics, located in Leavenworth, Washington, is a small company just getting off the ground, and their first production model is today’s featured pedal, the Fuzz Out!
At first glance, this pedal looks really simple…and it is, to an extent, but has a BIG range of tones on tap. Since there’s only one control knob, you need to sit down with this guy, as well as with your guitar(s), and figure out what sound you want to coax out of it. The fuzz output ranges from a mile drive with a little crunch to a gigantic wall of fuzz, complete with fat sustain and gorgeously smooth distortion. The Fuzz Out! also works in tandem with your guitar’s Volume knob, so experimentation is key with this pedal. The back-and-forth testing any pedal and your instrument is always a good time, and this little black beauty is no different. Using three transistors on the inside, this silicon-based fuzz will conjure up classic, stoner and psychedelic rock with ease, as well as a little punk and metal thrown in for good measure.
A really great thing about Ohm Made Electronics is their commitment to helping our their local community. They do this by helping to promote musical instrument access to local youth by donating 10% of their yearly earnings to purchasing educational instruments for those in need. Musical education has sadly become one of the first programs to get cut in schools when the funding isn’t there, and if more companies acted on a local level like Ohm Made, we could get instruments into the hands of children across the country, regardless of what programs their schools may or may not choose to fund.
