Elysian Pedals Sick Bacchus Chorus Flanger

Last month, we covered our first pedal from Elysian Pedals: the awesomely-named It’s Not Brain Surgery Octave Fuzz, and we loved it. Today, we get to delve further into their effects lineup, with the completely different Sick Bacchus Chorus Flanger. This modulation unit features just four controls and one toggle, but the sonic options here are vast and plentiful…

The Sick Bacchus is very easy to set and use in any situation, and runs in either Mono or Stereo. In the Stereo setting, the right channel is 5ms behind the left one, for just a hint of space and stereo emphasis. In addition to Speed and Depth controls, Intensity blends your wet and dry signals, and Gain adjusts the gain circuit, which increases volume and distortion, but not to extreme measures. The Chorus and Flanger modes each offer their own unique modulated tone, with experimentation and exploration considered vital and important.

This pedal gives you buffered bypass, sounds great in front of an amp OR in the effects loop, and can also be run straight into your favorite interface. The background art of the Sick Bacchus is magnified pictures of artist Jackson Pollack’s actual studio floor, and the pedal is named after the famous eponymous painting by Baroque artist Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. So far, we’re really digging the releases coming from Elysian Pedals, and hope to bring you more real soon. Check out their Reverb shop, as well as our demo!!
