We continue on our journey as we review some new pedals from Caline today, bringing some classic tones to the forefront. The CP-61 T-Drive Phase takes your phasing prowess up a notch, while the CP-512 Old School Reverb provides three modes and a ton of lush soundscapes. If you just have these two pedals and an amp on the edge of breakup, you’ve got a pretty rad and simple setup…
The T-Drive is a phaser pedal with a wide range of tones. Compared to some traditional phase pedals with just a speed knob, the T-Drive also has controls for Width and Feedback. Width controls how big of a sweep and feedback is the chorusy depth. In combination with the speed control you can get everything from classic warm phase, to chorus like shimmer, to stuttery almost tremolo. The pedal’s tone is always warm and rich.
The Caline Old School Reverb offers you three options: Room, Hall and Church. Paired with the three-way tone shaping controls this pedal delivers endless possibilities. Rich, warm and detailed sounding emulations of classic reverb effects. From a subtle ‘livener’ to a huge spacious sounding soundscape – the Old School has it all. Vintage tones and just the right amount of usable options.
The crew at Caline have been making pretty damn good and affordable pedals for years now, and we’re excited to bring a bunch of them to you over the coming weeks. The T-Drive Phase and Old School Reverb add tasty sonic flavor to any rig, creating lush, vintage-sounding tones that ring out for days. Be sure to check out all the pedals in the Caline lineup, and don’t forget to watch both of our demo videos for these great effects below – cheers!!
