Much like its older brother, the Warspit Distortion, today’s Pedal of the Day boasts a bunch of knobs and switches, and we can’t get enough of it all. The Olsen Interface MudWedge Fuzz is capable of deep and fuzzy tones, as well as very loud and intense distortion – what’s not to like here? We’ve got more knobs and switches to discover, so let’s get right to it!
The MudWedge features 2 Fuzz controls, a Noise control and an output Volume knob. If you roll back the Noise, the fuzz tones produced sound deeper and bolder, coinciding with where the Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2 knobs are set. The Green and Yellow switches alter the tone of Fuzz 1 and Fuzz 2, respectively, most noticeable when these dials are set near minimum. The Blue toggle controls what the lower left Momentary switch does, either muting your signal or boosting it to instant max volume.
The Red toggle switch is a boost, one that adds in some lower end bassy sounds, for a fatter fuzz. The Grey switch causes the Volume knob to turn into another fuzz knob, working with the Noise control as a volume adjuster (no mute in this mode). The possibilities are endless with this all-original fuzz circuit, working great with drop-tuned instruments – it works great on its own, but plays well with other pedals, too.
Easy to learn and fun to explore, the Olsen Interface MudWedge Fuzz creates new fuzz sounds you might not have dreamed up previously.
