Since the Femtaur Boost Overdrive arrived here at the shop 3 years ago, we’ve had the pleasure of getting to check out a bunch of effects from Kink Guitar Pedals, located in Cranbourne, Australia. Each has been unique and exciting, but with a cohesiveness to the brand that makes them all work well as a group. Today, we’re taking a look at our 5th Kink pedal, the Atomic Spaghetti Overdrive Tremolo, which is exactly as fun as the name would suggest…let’s dive right in!
The Tremolo side features an optical tremolo effect, with a few simple controls. The Wave Shape knob blends the waveform between square and triangle shapes, with a lot of interesting settings in between the 2 extremes. The Rate knob lets you set how slow or fast the tremolo moves, while Trem Mix lets you blend in as much or as little of the effect as you need with your clean signal.
The Overdrive side is based on the classic Zen Drive, and features a classic control set as well. Volume adjusts the drive’s output level, Tone sets the high or low end to taste, and Gain gives you all the dirt you can handle, ranging from a nice boot to a crunchy, overdriven sound. These two effects sound great solo, but put them together, and you’ve got a sweet, singing vintage amp tone right at your feet.
The crew at Kink Guitar Pedals aren’t really ones for putting a ton of info on each pedal on their website – you just gotta buy ’em and rock ’em out. Fortunately, we haven’t come across a bad effect of theirs, so you’re gonna be relatively safe. The Atomic Spaghetti Overdrive Tremolo might just be our favorite one yet, too – if you wanna hear this guy in action, make sure to check out our full demo video below. And don’t forget to head to the Kink Guitar Pedals’ website, for (some) info on this and their entire lineup of gear. Cheers!
