It’s been a while since we’ve heard from ADAG Audio, the last time being back in 2019 with the Metal Shock Distortion. But we’re glad they’re back, and with yet another BANG! The Seagull Overdrive is a transparent, low-mid gain drive pedal, with four simple controls and a lot of tonal tweakability. A great tone-shaper, you can run this one as a boost, first stage bump or right at the perfect level of amp breakup…
Since there are no labels for the controls on the Seagull, we’ll let you know what’s what. Starting from the top left, they go Volume, Gain, Treble and Bass. There’s also a small trimpot on the side that allows you to control your Saturation style, adjustable with a mini screwdriver. The Seagull boasts a ton of headroom, and can be run on 9-18VDC, the higher number pushing that headroom even further, and really pushing the overdrive to the next plateau.
There’s nothing too fancy about the ADAG Audio Seagull Overdrive, but it gets the job done, and done well. The EQ section really lets you find the right tonal qualities of the drive, and the wide range of gain gives you numerous options based on your guitar, amp and other pedals. To hear the power this cream-colored gem is harnessing, be sure to peruse our demo video below. Cheers to ADAG Audio once again – congrats on a wonderful overdrive, can’t wait to see what’s next!
