Valeton Coral Verb II Digital Modeling Reverb

Little, inexpensive and full of options is what you get with the Coral and Coral II series of effects from Valeton. After checking out the Coral MDR and Coral Echo II pedals, today we’re diving right into a little bit of reverb. The Coral Verb II Digital Modeling Reverb features 16 high-quality reverb styles to fit any musical style…and it’s size will fit right onto any pedalboard as well.

With an advanced 24-bit digital platform, the Coral Verb II is able to provide better sound quality, lower noise and new functions. The aforementioned 16 reverb modes provided are as follows:

STUDIO Simulates the acoustics of a studio
ROOM Simulates the acoustics of a room
HALL D Simulates the acoustics of a dark hall
HALL B Simulates the acoustics of a bright hall
PLATE W Simulates a plate reverberator with warm decay
PLATE B Simulates a plate reverberator with bright decay
SPRING M Simulates a spring reverberator with mellow, smooth decay
SPRING B Simulates a spring reverberator with bright, sharp decay
CHURCH 1 Simulates the acoustics of a church with darker decay
CHURCH 2 Simulates the acoustics of a church with brighter decay
MOD Produces a reverb effect with a lush, modulated sound
CLOUD Produces a reverb effect with rolling, cloud-like decay
GALAXY Produces a reverb effect with cold, sci-fi style decay
UNDERSEA Produces a reverb effect with deep, gloomy decay
SHIMMER Produces a reverb effect with pitch shifted shimmering tone
SWEEP Produces a reverb effect with a sweeping filter

To control these great algorithms, there are just three knobs. Mix blends your wet and dry signals, Decay sets the length of the reverb trails decay and Tone adjusts a basic EQ. The Coral Verb II also has a specially designed buffer bypass circuit, which keeps your original sound pristine when the pedal is not in use. And guess what? You get all of this for less than $70! Even if you only utilize HALF of these algorithms, you’ve come out on top, and chances are you’ll get some use out of the majority of them, at one point or another. We’re loving these little gems coming from the Valeton camp, so stay tuned for more reviews and demos of their other models coming soon!
