Kasleder FX Mean Bone Distortion

So many overdrive/distortion pedals….so little time. But what separates a GOOD one from a GREAT one? Well, therein lies the age old question, right? For us, it’s always been about the FEEL you get, as soon as you plug a pedal in, before you have time to dissect and scrutinize every little aspect of the build and sound….when you know, you know. Your amp comes alive, a big grin washes over your face and, for a moment, you are on stage at Madison Square Garden, Wembley, Red Rocks, Budokan or whatever your dream stage was growing up. The Kasleder FX Mean Bone Distortion brings all of the feels, along with a ton of options and no-nonsense rock that’s sure to melt your very faces…

Designed to emulate all of the classic rock sounds of our youth, the Mean Bone Distortion is a transparent-sounding circuit, one that adds character to your circuit. The internal charge pump sets the headroom to maximum, making for an incredibly fast and clear response. Bringing more of a pushed-amp, tube preamp kind-of sound to the table, your amp and guitar will just love the way you suddenly sound with this one.

Volume changes according to the mode that you’re currently in (keep reading for more info), Tone either boosts or cuts your treble and Gain has a nice range from fine, just-breaking-up amp tones to thick, dense, high-gain distortion. The aforementioned Mode switch gives you three clipping options:

Position 1 (middle) = more open, least compressed, tight mids, hot-rodded Plexi tones
Position 2 (down) = asymmetrical, tube distortion, JCM800-ish
Position 3 (up) = dense, compressed, 90’s grunge feel

If that’s not enough for you, there’s also a Bass switch, giving you the choice between Minimum, Medium and Maximum bass presence, enabling you to dial in the perfect EQ sound for any rig. The Mean Bone stacks up with other pedals wonderfully, clean up gorgeously with your guitar’s volume knob and sounds JUST INCREDIBLE. Really. Don’t believe us? Better listen to and watch the demo below, then let us know if we’re lying. Well, don’t, but we hope you dig what we did, as well as the pedal itself. Cheers once again to our friends at Kasleder FX on an incredible dirt machine, one that has definitely found its place on our demo pedal board (instantly). Check out their website if you haven’t already, and ROCK ON!!!

Here’s another demo video for you all, this time featuring a special Limited Edition Mean Bone for the folks at the Klangfarbe Shop in Vienna, Austria – enjoy!
