Greyscale Devices Echo Machine+ Delay

The Echo Machine+ from Greyscale Devices is truly a one-of-a-kind echo/delay pedal, with a couple of unexpected and awesome additions that aren’t found very often on delay pedals, as far as I have seen, anyway. A nice, big, silver metal box houses an array of wires and circuits, all working in conjunction to form a unique, spacey, trippy, echo/delay sound that sure to add a whole new dimension of depth to your overall sound.

TWO delay sounds combine together to form one signal with the Echo Machine+. The Echo knob is more of a one-delay wonder, and works great for chick’n pick’n licks and short slap backs. The Dwell knob produces a darker tone, with more repeats added, echoing (pun intended) the great analog-sounding delay everyone seems to always be after. Mix these 2 together, and now there is a HUGE delay sound coming out of you amp. The Time dial goes all the way up to 600ms when maxed, and the Length toggle switch cuts the range of the delay time in half. Play with the speeds and settings forever to create a vast array of repeated, echoey, sonic goodness, then for fun, step on the Oscillation switch, and hold on tight. This will send your delayed into orbit and beyond, great for song outros or thick, delay-filled jam sessions. In addition to all of this, there’s an additional switch you can stomp that activates an inner pre-amp, giving your signal as much of a boost as you need. Plus, there’s a Bright switch on the back of the pedal for even more tonal options. Whew! That’s a lot to handle in one pedal, and even with all these options, it’s as simple and fun to use as any other pedal you’ll come across.

This is the second pedal I’ve had the pleasure of using from Greyscale Devices (the other being their incredible Vintage Wah), and I gotta tell you, they are putting out some really nice and original gear. Looking forward to see what they have for us coming next, but for now, you should check out their website and see what they’re all about!
