Once again, Chris and the crew at JPTR FX have managed to outdo themselves with today’s featured pedal. The Silbermaschine Fuzz combines two gain stages in a parallel circuit, resulting in an unrefined and unbuffered vintage fuzz conquest. This LARGE pedal has the look and feel of a classic unit, but somehow brings a bit of modern touch along for the ride. Not for the weak or faint of heart, let’s check out this effect in all its fuzzy glory.
The circuits of the Silbermaschine are geared towards the tones of two classic fuzz/distortion machines: the Tone Bender and the Fuzz Face. The sounds produced here, however, are less compressed, resulting in a more open type of sound and feel. The two smaller knobs each control one gain stage, and when you get to mixing and matching, all hell breaks loose with a quickness. The giant knob is a shared master volume, keeping it simple but never stupid. The gain knobs also act as a filter, delivering tones that range from sizzling drives to rich, dynamic fuzz. You can even coax out some upper octave sounds, too, when you max these two beasts out, for a unique, exciting and inspiring auditory experience.
Never a company to shy away from dirt, grit, noise and chaos, JPTR FX brings the heat once more with the Silbermaschine Fuzz. If you guys haven’t had the pleasure yet, seriously check out Chris is doing with this company, they’re really making some incredible machines that expand your mind and add a new dimension to any type of music you might play. And, if you’re looking for a simple, powerful fuzz that will most definitely NOT fit on a small travel board, but looks and sounds wicked bad ass, then give the Silbermaschine a go. Be sure to stop by the JPTR FX website, after you check out our demo video and subscribe to our YouTube channel, of course….
