This results in the Volume controls from both channels becoming active, and able to be blended at will to produce gorgeous, soaring crunch tones. The Marvel Drive V3 from Ramble FX combines all that you love about those old Plexi amplifiers into an aesthetically-pleasing and incredible-sounding crunchy dirt effect. The High Treble knob sets the brighter, treble-heavy gain, while the Normal knob sets the darker, bass-heavy gain. Between these two knobs and all of the settings available, you’re certain to find at least one, if not a whole bunch, of useful, killer, rocking settings with ease.
The Master knob is an overall master volume parameter, dialing in the output to suit your needs. Presence adds in a bit of tonal control, as it sets the amount of treble found in the signal path. A really unique and very sonically spot-on feature of the Marvel Drive is the 9v/18v toggle switch: run it at 9v and it sounds fantastic, but flip this guy and the pedal goes into true overdrive, employing an internal power supply with a voltage doubler, to give you more headroom and really get those Marshall-esque tones you’ve been searching for since you were a teenager.
While a LOT of effects out there claim to be a “Marshall in a Box,” the Marvel Drive V3 really employs the techniques, circuitry and attitude of those old amps, to create a stunningly accurate portrayal of those amps to perfection.
