Ever get the feeling that *something* is missing in your signal chain? Something that will add *that thing* you need to complete the sound in your head? Today’s pedal, the OC-2 Octave from Boss, has been one of those pedals for over 4 decades, adding depth and beefy low frequencies to thin rigs and signal paths. One of my favorite pedals of all time, come along as we dive in and see what it can do…
The OC-2 Octave pedal lets users fatten up their sound by adding two additional tones – one and two octaves below the original note. It features separate OCT 1 and OCT 2 controls, as well as a Direct Level control, for exact tonal shaping. This classic, vintage unit sounds incredible, and has been used on countless recordings and in thousands of live gigs across the world since its release back in 1982.
Although it was replaced by the OC-3 in 2003, the OC-2 Octave has lived on as a staple pedal for many players over the course of the last 43 years. Easy to dial in, while still giving you a wide range of tones to choose from, this brown beauty brings incredible low end to any stage or studio. Be sure to check out our demo video below, and if you can find one used, I highly recommend picking it up – you won’t be disappointed!!
