Although I only had the privilege to check out two pedals from Zero G IOD (the Honey Coma Fuzz and Echo Cooler Reverb), I was thoroughly impressed by both. Zack from Zero G IOD is back with his new partner Greg, and they have formed a new company, Other* Pedals – today, we’re bringing you their flagship effects unit, the Bokonon Fuzz. A time-honored and classic sound emanates from this sea green beauty – let’s dive right in and see what it’s all about…
Transport yourself to a fuzzy oasis. Let the square waves wash over you. The Bokonon is a fuzz pedal inspired by the classic MKIII Bender, featuring a boosted input section, a bias control, and a high frequency cut control. Made with vintage Motorola 2N3903 silicon transistors, this minty green beast oozes authenticity and classic fuzz sounds, making it a welcome addition to any rig, regardless of your style of playing or music.
- INPUT: Smash the front end of the fuzz by turning the INPUT control CW or simulate rolling the guitar volume back by turning it CCW.
- ATTACK: Turn CW for more fuzz.
- HI: High frequency control, turn CCW to cut highs.
- OTHER*: Bias control, turn CW for more gating. The INPUT, ATTACK, and BIAS are all interactive.
- LEVEL: Effect volume.
- 125B enclosure
- Neutrik jacks
- Accepts +9v via a standard 2.1mm center negative barrel jack

A bias control on any fuzz pedal is always welcome, and it really adds to the overall fuzz tone produced by the Bokonon Fuzz. The sleek, minimalist design and aesthetics allow you to focus on the sound and not be easily distracted, although it really does look super sharp in person. You can tell that Zack and Greg from Other* Pedals really put in the work on this one – be sure to head to their website and grab a pedal for yourself, just as soon as you finish watching our demo video…cheers!!
