FTelettronica Pedals Dystopian Fuzz 1

After checking out the Final Cut Preamp Booster EQ from FTelettronica Pedals last month, I was excited to see what was next from this Italian company. Moving in a slightly different direction, today we have for you their Dystopian Fuzz, a remake of a classic pedal in a smaller, more modern footprint. With three different fuzz/drive modes, and EQ section and a whole lotta output volume, this gray beast seeks to destroy everything in its sonic path…and accomplishes that feat with ease.

The Dystopian Fuzz is a tribute to the infamous BOSS Hyper Fuzz, featuring three modes: Fuzz 1, Fuzz 2 and Gain Boost. Fuzz 1 gives you a basic fuzz sound that places emphasis on the harmonics, while Fuzz 2 provides a more full-bodied fuzz sound that places emphasis on the lower frequency range. The Gain Boost mode is ideal for boosting the power of a guitar with limited output power (such as one with a single-coil pickup); or for increasing the amount of distortion you can obtain when using a distortion-type effects units or guitar amplifier.

When Fuzz 1 or Fuzz 2 is selected, the Gain knob allows you to adjust the depth of the fuzz. The distortion depth is increased (and sustains will be lengthened) as you move the knob to the right. When Gain Boost is selected you can adjust the amount by which the gain is to be boosted, with the gain increasing the more you move the knob to the right. Oscillation could be produced if the depth is increased too much, which I strongly encourage you to try.

Locked inside these three modes and three control knobs are a TON of fuzz-ranging tones, and they’re patiently waiting to be unleashed on the world (or your ears in your bedroom, whichever). Since the prices of original Hyper Fuzz pedals are wildly high, the Dystopian Fuzz not only gives THOSE sounds, but at about a quarter of the price. Be sure to head to the FTelettronica Pedals website to snag one of these, but first, be sure to watch our demo video so you can hear it in action. Thanks for visiting, cheers!!
