What a day! After this morning’s release of the new UAFX Enigmatic ’82 Overdrive Special Amp from Universal Audio, this afternoon brings us a release from another one of our favorite companies: Keeley Electronics. Going off the beaten sonic path in a BIG way, they’ve released the Octa Psi Transfigurating Fuzz, which mixes distortion, fuzz, octave and pitch shifting together in some of the most unique ways we’ve ever seen. Not for the boring or faint of heart, this black beauty brings power, gusto, wackiness and glorious exploration right to the forefront…

Imagine merging a powerful pitch-shifter, octave generator, and analog fuzz into one intuitive pedal. With the new Octa Psi, Keeley has made that dream a reality! The all-analog, transistor-based fuzz circuit delivers incredible sound with wave after wave of gain staging leading to hard clipping, carving out the perfect fuzz tone with Scoop, Punch, or Psi mode, and making your guitar pickups sound enormous at any volume.

The Pitch/Octave side features Up, Down, and Dual modes for creating nearly every harmonic interval, including power chords, stacked fourths, and diminished chords. Momentary Mode is perfect for dive-bombs and wild multi-octave bends, and the adjustable Ramp Speed option creates perfectly timed pitch bending, just like having an onboard expression pedal. You can easily switch between Octave/Pitch before or after fuzz by holding down both foot switches, or switch between All Wet or Wet/Dry blend with a quick double-tap of the Blend control.
