Blank Electronics Wizard Sleeve Distortion Fuzz

I’m always excited to take a look at effects pedals from another new (to me, anyway) company, and that’s what we’re doing once again today. Hailing from Austin, Texas, Blank Electronics has a passion for audio electronics, mostly amplifiers and effects pedals, sharing their hobby with those interested in fun and sometimes wonky effects. The first pedal of theirs we’re looking at is the massive Wizard Sleeve Distortion Fuzz, a powerhouse effect with a ton of range and a glorious boost section…

The Blank Electronics Wizard Sleeve is a highly versatile distortion/fuzz device, featuring a sonic range can go from a mild overdriven effect and transform into a massive wave folding wall of noisy fuzz. The parameters here are fairly simple, but really provide a wide scope of sound from which to sculpt. Some settings for this device are not for the faint of heart, try at your own risk.

The Body knob lets you control the mid frequencies, for a tone that’s tailored to what you need. There’s a Mass switch, too, that gives you 3 differing options to subtly tailor the low end frequencies at the input stage. The key here is the Boost footswitch, which activates the selectable boost circuit that amplifies the input before the main circuit’s gain stage, letting you really push this pedal into dirty, nasty but beautiful territory.
