Tone City Big Rumble Overdrive Boost

Our friends over at Osiamo Music Gear have introduced us to some great pedal companies over the years, and we’ve got another one for you all today! We’re taking a look at the Tone City Big Rumble Overdrive Boost, a 2-in-1 unit that has a bunch of options and some really killer tones, as well as a cool aesthetic that will have folks asking about “that purple pedal on your board.” Let’s jump in and see what these effects are all about, shall we?

The Big Rumble’s sound is in the Dumble ballpark, with not too much gain, and a wonderfully saturated mid range, without the nasally TS tone. The Boost section provides up to +20dB of clean boost to your signal, and can be used independently of the drive section. The Overdrive adds an Attack control to the usual parameter suspects, letting you choose from 7 mid range filter options, which control the ‘fatness’ of the tone.

There are two different sound modes: Jazz (less drive) & Rock (more drive), and the overdrive sound can be mixed continuously with the clean signal with the Clean control. Overall, the Big Rumble Overdrive Boost really has a lot going on, with enough control to dial in the perfect drive and boost sounds for any rig.
