Last. month, we had the opportunity to play an incredible overdrive and boost pedal, the aptly-named My Little Klony, from our friends at Daddy Daughter Pedal Works. Shifting gears just a bit today, we’ve got another gem from that crew, coming in the form of the Fuzzy Rick Fuzz. Fans of a certain animated TV show will recognize the name and artwork instantly, but the sounds coming out of this effect are new, inspiring and dirty as can be…
Based on the opamp Muff-style fuzz/distortion pedals of the 1970’s, the Fuzzy Rick brings standard controls and a bit of sonic flavoring to the table. Volume, Tone and Sustain are the knobs you’d expect in a pedal like this, but there’s a lone toggle switch as well. When you flip it down, the Tone/EQ section of the circuit is bypassed, resulting in full-on fuzzy madness! The range in the distortion is wonderful as well, giving you a broad spectrum with which you can easily explore and create new fuzzy goodness.
With a new circuit board, enclosure design and UV printed graphics on a white matte powder coat, the Fuzzy Rick Fuzz has returned, with some gusto. This affordable and excellent-sounding pedal is a great conversation starter, for sure, but the tones and dirt present here will make it a permanent fixture on your board. Thanks to the team at Daddy Daughter Pedal Works on this beautiful, fuzzy creation – be sure to check out their website for more effects, and don’t sleep on our demo video below…Cheers!
