Fuzz and Distortion effects with multiple knobs and switches are always a good time to experiment with, and today’s pedal, while not over the top, provides a multitude of sonic caverns waiting to be explored. The Calico Effects Antlers Fuzz Distortion pays homage to the classic Green Muff circuit, giving you vintage-sounding and modern high gain tones alike. Three knobs, three switches and a lot of dirty dirt here – let’s check it out!
The Antlers’ top row controls are typical of a normal Green Muff. Volume, Tone and Distortion do exactly what you’d expect them to do, and very well. The bottom row of toggles is where it diverts, letting you easily tweak the pedal from classic to different. Mids offers boosted, flat or scooped mids options, Gain lets you choose less or more gain and Lift activates the silicon diodes in the first stage, or removes them altogether. All toggles in the downward position (towards the foot switch) are stock Green Muff configuration.
Sounding excellent on both guitar and bass, the Antlers Fuzz Distortion brings a broad range of sounds to any rig.
