We’re always on the lookout for new pedal companies to discover, and today we’ve done EXACTLY that, with our first pedal from That New Pedal Company. Coming all the way from Galacia, Spain, the Raio Tones & Circuits 70s Overdrive uses a simple 2-knob layout to reproduce classic tones from a classic decade. Perfectly recreating the original sound of the first overdrive models, this one has a vintage sound that never goes out of style…
The 70s Overdrive brings old and new tech together, creating familiar sounds while utilizing modern components: Neutrik connectors, Hammond enclosures, Alpha Potentiometers, Yageo Resistors and Cornell Dubilier, Panasonic, KEMET & Vishay Capacitors. The two control knobs up top, Volume and Gain, make it easy to dial in a great sound that suits any rig or setup. Go from a nice signal boost to edge of breakup to classic rock-fueled guitar bliss, all in record time, with a versatility and transparency to suit any player.
That New Pedal Company assembles all of their pedals by hand, surrounded by nature, in small batches to maintain a standard of quality in each and every unit. The procedures used to create these pedals are as classic as the tones they produce, bringing it all full circle, with one foot in the past and another in the future. The Raio Tones & Circuits 70s Overdrive is the first offering from these guys, and if this is the direction they’re headed in, we’re 100% on board for it all.
