Today’s pedal, Poison Noises The Crook Overdrive V3, gives you all these feels and more, proving a wide sweep of sounds that will pummel and destroy your amp…but only if you want it to.
The Crook isn’t your average three-knob overdrive pedal, no sir. The names of the control parameters are sly, referencing some sort of shady and illegal operation. Breaking controls the amount of Gain present, ranging from slight breakup to gritty and sustained. Entering sets your output volume, while High-Tail controls the brightness/darkness of your tone. The new Lay Low knob sneaks a little extra bass response into your signal, and The Goods switch provides two separate diode selection, now with even more headroom than the original.
No MIDI, no presets, no 400 knobs to fidget with – The Crook Overdrive V3 is a streamlined drive pedal with easy to use controls and a ton of sonic options. The design and fun parameter names just add to the likability of this effect, and the sounds it produces easily solidify it in the powerhouse pedals category.
