When the first iteration of Walrus Audio‘s MAKO Series: D1 High-Fidelity Stereo Delay was released, we couldn’t get our hands on one fast enough. A brilliant, feature-packed machine filled with everything you could want in a delay, we didn’t think they could improve upon it, or would need to. Well, we were wrong, and are excited to bring you the latest Version 2 of this powerhouse pedal today.
The meat and potatoes of the V2 are roughly the same as the first one (read our review here for all that info), but there’s just MORE of what we already love. Updates include:
• Added stereo width control giving the D1 two different widening types – Panning and Haas Stereo Effect.
• Revised the Reverse program for a stronger effect.
• Revised the Vintage program to emulate a tape delay.
• Added USB functionality for firmware updates via walrusaudio.io.
The D1 V2 still comes housed in this awesome anodized silver finish, making it look like something right out of the future, which it basically is, along with all the other bells and whistles we’ve come to appreciate over the last two years. For the demo below, we went in a bit of different direction, gathering a collection of MAKO Series pedals together for one rad video. With help from the R1 High-Fidelity Stereo Reverb and the ACS1 Amp + Cab Sim, the D1 V2 shines, and helps to create a huge sound when paired up with it’s younger audio siblings. Grab a coffee, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride – cheers to Walrus Audio once more on creating something we all didn’t even know we needed…again.
