We love a good mini pedal here at Pedal of the Day – sometimes, though, they’re not built as sturdy as their larger, more expensive counterparts. That’s not the case today, however – the Fuzz and Pure Delay pedals from Might Be Famous are tough, heavy and sound great. They’re also affordable to ANYONE who wants to explore these two genres of effects. Let’s see what these little fellas are all about…
The Fuzz pedal produces a unique and heavily distorted tone, aiming to recreate a high-quality, retro fuzz effect. The simple 3-knob control system provides dirty, strong, rich and aggressive sounds, all while remaining clear and touch-sensitive. Adjust the output level using the Volume knob, control the darkness/brightness of the fuzz with the Tone knob, and set the Gain to however gritty and nasty you want this sound to be.
The Pure Delay has been designed to create classic, warm, analog and tape delay tones. This old school echo gives you that slow-decay, multiple delay rhythm we all know and love, providing up to 530ms of delay time using the Time parameter. The F.Back knob sets the feedback/repeats of the delay effect, while Echo adjusts the level of the delay sound in your mix. The pure analog circuit lets you create distinctive textures and soundscapes with ease, stacking well with other pedals, too.
Both of these pedals are True Bypass, and both cost $40.00 or less…WHAT?? That’s right, folks – you can really get some magnificent sounds out of this pair, and at a price point that’s workable for us all. And the enclosures’ full metal, compact shell design ensure these effects won’t break or snap if you get a little wild on stage – they seem extremely sturdy and built to last.
