The crew at Pigtronix sent over their Moon Pool Tremvelope Phaser a couple months back, and we couldn’t wait to get our grubby mitts on another mini pedal from them ASAP. Thankfully, today’s little bundle of joy arrived safe and sound: the Constellator Modulated Analog Delay. The features packed into this one are quite astounding, and we can’t wait to dive in with you all right NOW…
An all-analog delay pedal, the Constellator is capable of producing up to 600ms of lush echo, coupled with adjustable modulation and a comprehensive sound palette. The MN3005 bucket brigade chips provide superior headroom and tape-like saturation, going from percussive slapback to chorused-out delays with infinite repeats. Time sets your delay time, Mix blends your wet/dry signals and Repeats adjusts the feedback, getting into awesome self-oscillation when maxed out.
The Mod knob slowly blends modulation into the signal, adding color and warp aspects into the repeats. The Feel switch toggles between two modulation modes as well, one Chorus and one Vibrato. Several parameters are automatically adjusted simultaneously when this button is pushed in or released out, adding additional coloring of the LFO modulation. Then, you just blend in as much or as little as you see fit, for gorgeous and vintage echoes.
The Constellator allows you to develop shimmering delay lines with crystalline overtones, and see them scatter across the canvas in your mind. Wonderfully thick and rich, you might not expect these types of tones from a pedal this size, but Pigtronix has figured out a way to pack it all in, and we love it. You gotta hear this one in action, so be sure to check our demo video below, and head to the Pigtronix website afterwards for more info and to snag one for yourself! Happy Holidays!!
