Pedal Pawn Texan Twang Overdrive Boost

There are certain tones that are highly sought-after in the guitar player world, one of them belonging to a Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughn. However, most of us cannot afford an original early ’80s Tube Screamer, much less a $50,000 Dumble Amp, so we rely on pedal companies to create those tones for us. Today’s effect, the Pedal Pawn Texan Twang Overdrive Boost, seeks to encapsulate SRV’s ‘Twang’ in a box, providing just two knobs and your Volume control to coax out some killer tones.

A custom Overdrive/Boost circuit, the Texan Twang has been specifically tuned for an abundance of glassy clean-up when you roll back your guitar’s volume. Three different settings, Hi (glass/bite), Mid (fat/tube) and Lo (growl/wood) give you a multitude of sonic options to explore, using that Volume knob on your instrument as a wide-ranging tone control. From a beautiful boost to high-end, sparkling chime to low end-infused growling dirt, the Texan Twang has got it all.

Countless hours of research and tweaking have resulted in one of the funnest and most inspiring SRV-themed pedals we’ve come across, and the dedication from the Pedal Pawn crew shines throughout. Utilizing the Volume control makes on-the-fly adjustments that much easier, and allows your tone to open up or dial back at a moment’s notice. Cheers to Pedal Pawn on an excellent accomplishment in sound – they’ve got a rad lineup of other gear, too, so be sure to visit their website for more info. And don’t forget to check out our demo below to see/hear the Texan Twang in action – we obviously don’t shred like Stevie did, but exploring the tones available in this pedal was a blast! Happy Holidays!!
