Fjord Fuzz ODIN V2 Octave Fuzz

]With a super unique look and a ton of unique sounds, it’s safe to say that Fjord Fuzz doesn’t conform to normal pedal-building standards. And we love it. After checking out their BJØRN and BIFROST pedals, we couldn’t wait to see what was next. Well, the ODIN V2 Octave Fuzz has arrived, and has exceeded our expectations once again…

Taking one of the best octave-up fuzz circuit designs of all time, the ODIN V2 strips away all the fluff and over-engineering, leaving you with a simple, yet powerful device. The Fuzz side offers a wonderful, saggy, yet open and carefully compressed fuzz tone, guided by a lone Gain knob. The Octave side, once engaged, brings an incredible octave up to the table, nice and loud and tuned perfectly to jump out of any mix, without getting pointy or harsh. This one has its own Gain control as well.

The GIANT knob in the middle of the pedal works for both sides, and sets your output Volume, as you may have deduced already. These two circuits are entirely discrete designs inside, making the switching between them a seamless experience. FYI, ODIN uses an input stage that shares that sweet cleanup and loading feature as smiley-faced fuzzes – buffers are OK in front of the ODIN V2, but Wahs require a buffer between them and ODIN. Not much more to say on this one, except that you really should hear it in action in our demo video below. We’ve got a couple more pedals coming along from Fjord Fuzz here in the next few weeks as well, so stay tuned! And don’t forget to check out their website for more details on this and all of their wonderful sonic creations – cheers!
