Towards the end of last year, we dove headfirst into a couple of magnificent pedals from Interchange Noise Works. The On Air Fuzz and Element 119 Distortion brought new ideas about these two genres to the table, and we were thoroughly impressed by both. Today, we’ve got a couple more pedals from these guys – a dirty, overdriven trio, to be precise, aptly named Overdrives I, II & III.
Overdrives I, II & III all take their elements from the Electra Distortion circuit – if you’re familiar at all, it is simple and lends itself to a myriad of modifications, some of which are represented by these three effects. I is a classic overdrive circuit, II leans more towards lighter drive and boost territory, while III brings the thunder as a powerful distortion circuit. While each one features it’s own characteristics, they are all equipped with just one Volume control. The internal parts are different for each, and were swapped out by ear, as the builds went, to create these 3 specific tones.
They play well individually, and they play well together. Overdrives I, II & III from Interchange Noise Works represent the three dirt stages everyone wants to have in their rig, and with just one knob on each, they’re easy to set and forget. We take a look at each one on its own in our demo below, then stack ’em all up at the end to create some new and intriguing sounds. Be sure to check out the demo NOW, and then go visit the Interchange Noise Works website to snag one or two or three of these guys for yourself – cheers!
