Today we’re continuing down the path of Dual Enlightenment, thanks to the wonderful DCP Dual Series from our friends at Caline. The DCP-08 Nightwolf Overdrive Fuzz combines two of our favorite effects into one box, perfect for adding a bit of tone-shaping or completely annihilating your clean sound. These two classic effects make for a great team, let’s check out some more details!
The Left side of the Nightwolf is a smooth, classic-sounding fuzz that uses a vintage germanium transistor. With just Volume and Fuzz controls, it’s pretty easy to dial in a great sound in about 5 seconds. The Right side is Caline’s Pure Sky Drive, the circuit of which is based on the popular Timmy Drive. Along with controls for Volume and Gain, an active EQ section, comprised of Treble and Bass knobs, lets you fine-tune the exact overdrive tone you’ve been searching for.
These two circuits can be used independently OR in tandem, making the DCP-08 Nightwolf Overdrive Fuzz a versatile tool for the front end of any rig. There’s even a Voice switch that lets you select the order in which these effects go – yet another option to help you stand out from the crowd.
