The Blessed Mother Overdrive works as a boost, low-gain drive and overall tone-shaper, and found its way instantly into our demo rig. The Blessed Mother births a classic overdrive sound with power from the Most High. Her supernatural combination of germanium and silicon diodes generates a uniquely raw, yet velvety tone. Besides the Volume and Drive controls, it also features a powerful Treble and Bass control range. The real key to this pedal’s uniqueness, though, is an adjustable transparency function: The Immaculator. This lets you preserve or purify the sound’s original grit to your liking, blending your dry signal with the overdrive for a perfect pairing of tonal bliss.
As you may expect, The Blessed Mother Overdrive plays well with others, and is true bypass, although we’re not sure why you’d ever want to turn it off. Subtle but present, unique but familiar, this first stage pedal will slide seamlessly right onto any board or studio setup you’ve got. A super high-quality, clean build just solidifies The Blessed Mother’s awesomeness, and you won’t have to pray to coax out some incredible sounds. UPDATE 8/18/21: Heather has released a Limited Edition of The Blessed Mother called Fuzz Assupmtion, which keeps the heart and soul of the original, but swaps out the Immaculator blend control for the new Hyperduliator, which blends some tasty FUZZ in with the DRIVE. This thing rocks, and is a great compliment to the above pedal – check it out in our demo:
