We’re coming at you again today, with another blistering beauty from our pals down at Mozztronics in Australia. Keeping with the simple layout and minimal control section we’ve seen from their effects so far, the MF-1 Baconizer Mosfet Fuzz was actually inspired by the sound of sizzling bacon, and this one tries to capture that tone in pedal form.

The MF-1 Baconizer uses a Mosfet transistor, not as a reverse diode for clipping, but as a gain device. B.A.C.O.N stands for Bigly Asymmetrical Creator Of Noise. This beast has multiple stages of intensely asymmetrical gain based around a Mosfet transistor. Added Treble cut & Treble boost controls let you dial in your EQ, and added a switch for high / low gain adds to the tonal options here.

In low gain mode this gives nice crunchy tones; in high gain mode, this beast squeals like a pig. Sizzle controls the amount of gain from a nice crunch to an ultra crispy fuzz, Phat controls the amount of treble in the output, from treble cut to treble boost, and Heat adjusts the overall volume out of the pedal. There’s also that Gain switch to select between Low and High gain.

Simply put, the MF-1 Baconizer Mosfet Fuzz is another scorcher from Mozztronics. Not sure what they’re putting in the water down in Melbourne, but each one of their pedals is hotter and louder than the previous one, and we are digging it. Plus, they’re dedicated to keeping batteries out of the landfills, which is an excellent example that all pedal companies should follow. Check out our demo below, and stay tuned for more Mozztronics gear in the near future!
