Ahh, the Tonebender. A classic fuzz heard on countless records, and one that’s been replicated and duplicated to varying degrees of success by numerous companies around the world. We’ve got another one for you today, and it’s a good one: the PedalFarm F-2 Professional Fuzz is based on the MKII Tonebender circuit, and has been re-imagined with silicon transistors and a bias control, for a wide range of fuzzy textures. The classic Level and Attack controls are present here on the F-2, but it’s the addition of a precision Bias control that makes this one stand out. Providing a wide range of textures to the fuzz, it frees up new possibilities previously unattainable, all without losing the essence of the original classic. The interaction between the Bias and Attack controls allow for a multitude of great sounds. The F-2 is very reactive to your guitars volume control, cleaning up nicely with small changes of the knob. It also sounds great with a bass!
The extended Level control ensures full volume capability at lower bias settings where the signal is weaker, while also allowing you to boost your amp. The Attack control has been modified to provide a better balance to the fuzz range and improved frequency content across the sweep of the knob. And then there’s that Bias control, which provides a variety of textures, from thick overdrive to ripsaw, and beyond. Each F-2 is individually tuned to make it easy to consistently access specific bias points.
