We’re always excited to have gear from Dunlop and Way Huge come through our door, and today’s featured effect is a really special treat. Limited to only 40 pieces worldwide, the one-run-and-done was conceived during the first part of the Covid pandemic, housed in a beautiful enclosure adorned with colorful artwork, along with Japanese writing from the early prototype stage. Ladies and gentleman, may we present the Way Huge Geisha Drive.
Assembled, dated, serial numbered, and signed by Way Huge leader Jeorge Tripps’ own hand over the weekend of April 4th and 5th, 2020, the Geisha Drive is the Way Huge Drive’s limited edition circuit, offering potent, versatile OD and distortion tones that can be moved and shaped by the intensity of your attack and the volume of your guitar. At low Drive settings, you’ll get a warm, buttery sound with a bit of velvet around the edges. Midways gets you thick, tube-y overdrive. Start cranking that Drive knob towards the end of the range, and you’ll have gnarly thunder and lightning distortion. Use the Tone knob to brighten it up or mellow it out, and use the Volume knob to be as loud as you wanna be.
A beautiful, unique and killer-sounding overdrive, the Geisha Drive is a true piece of history, not only for the limited number produced, but as a glimpse back (hopefully soon) to a time when the world was turned upside down, and so many of us looked to music to get through the tough times. If there’s any genre that can help do that, it’s Overdrive, and this one in particular rocked our world and put a smile on our face. Cheers to Jeorge, Dunlop, Way Huge and all involved in this one – we love limited series pedals, especially when they look and sound this good. Fulkl demo below, don’t miss it!! Cheers, and stay safe!!
