Over the course of the last 9 months or so, we’ve been lucky enough to check out the Distortion, Overdrive, Boost and Delay pedals from Teisco, and we’ve got another one for you today. The simply named Fuzz is a fuzz pedal, yes, but one that definitely ate too many steroids in high school. Working together with an octave circuit, this loud, powerful machine is no match for amplifiers and eardrums alike.
The Teisco Fuzz is a classic silicon-based circuit, taking its inspiration from a furry 1970’s predecessor. The Level, Gain and Tone controls are standard fare, but it’s that Octave switch that really sends this one into buzzed-out bliss. The Octave Up portion adds a new dimension to your fuzz sound, unlocking searing leads, synth-like overtones and even aliens playing violins (their phrasing, not ours!).
Full of long sustain, different voicings and all the fuzzy octave-ness you can handle, the Teisco Fuzz is a clean-looking but dirty-sounding monster. Enclosed in a premium zinc housing, it also features recessed screws, removable feet and a textured base for stronger velcro-sticking.
