Vaderin Pedals Tone Fox Overdrive Distortion

Over the years, we’ve seen a boatload of overdrive and distortion pedals come through, and after all that time, and all those effects, it still puts a giant smile on my face to plug in a new sonic creation and let ‘er rip. Case in point: today’s pedal, the Tone Fox Overdrive Distortion from Vaderin Pedals. Three controls, no toggle, easy as can be, right? Wait, there’s a TEETH knob….??

The Tone Fox contains a NOS germanium transistor that comes into play the more you turn up the Gain control, and it gets nice and dirty. The distortion created at higher settings is articulate and pick-sensitive, while the lower-gain overdrive is fat and harmonically rich. The Vol knob sets the output, as you’d expect, but what the hell is Teeth? This parameter opens up the distortion attack as it is increased, creating more volume, symmetrical distortion and less compression. You can also roll it back for a heavier, asymmetrically compressed tone. For just a three-knob control section, there’s a lot going on with the Tone Fox.

Being the first custom audio machine to come out of the Vaderin Pedals camp, the Tone Fox Overdrive Distortion really sets the bar fairly high for what’s to come next from these guys (hint: you’ll see it right here in a few weeks). Located outside of Philly, these guys obviously know pedals, and we’re stoked we got to check this one out. Be sure to visit their website for more info and to grab a Tone Fox of your own, and don’t forget to watch our demo video below. Cheers!
