We’re headed into Gear of the Day territory today, boys and girls, although don’t fret, for pedals will definitely make their appearance. The Gizmotron 2.0 is a patented mechanical bowing device that attaches to electric guitar or bass, enabling players to produce string sounds such as cello, viola or violin, creating endless sustain, haunting drones or bow polyphonic chord arrangements. Based on the original creation which was invented in the mid-1970’s, the new and improved Gizmotron has been reverse engineering and newly designed using modern materials and manufacturing methods. New patented innovations were created to improve sound, functionality and reliability, all of which were lacking with the original. Using rotating wheels on the strings of your guitar or bass, you apply pressure via the keys to create a multitude of sounds. You can depress more than one of these keys as well, in order to form chords in a new and obscure fashion.
There’s even a Speed control attached to the unit, allowing you to set the tone and swell on the fly. Gizmotron attaches easily to your guitar or bass, by way of sticky tabs that are easily removed if need be, without damaging the finish of your instrument.
