Almost FIVE years ago, we were fortunate enough to be able to review and demo the Keeley Electronics Neutrino Envelope Filter, a wonderful little box chock full of funk. It was one of our, and many other players’ favorite filters EVER, but Robert and the Keeley crew didn’t think it was grand enough. Therefore, we get to check out the Neutrino once again, only in a new, Version 2 form.
On the surface, the Neutrino V2 is extremely similar to the original (check out our review and all the deets HERE). The opto-couplers used in the Neutrino are particularly smooth, giving you an amazing vowel-like tone. It also still feautures 3 filter ranges, 2 directions, 2 ranges for the frequency center and a Peak control. They’ve even engineered a power supply voltage-doubler so you maintain the highest headroom for your tone. Sounds great, right?
Well, right, but also….there have been a couple of improvements done to this version, including improved note tracking, upgraded components, and external output Volume control (on the side) and, of course, a sweet and modern new look. Otherwise, it’s still the same amazing funk machine we all know and love, it just sounds…better. Cheers once again to the entire Keeley Electronics organization – they’re been supporters of ours since just about the beginning, and we look forward to showcasing each and every new piece of gear they create. Check out our demo below, and be sure to visit the Keeley website and follow them on all the socials!!
