Y’all know how much we love delays around here, right? All shapes and sizes, all price points and all ranges of options are more than welcome: always have been, always will be. Therefore, it was a no-brainer to give the Joyo R-10 Nascar Analog Delay a go, and we’re sure glad we did. This simplistic delay produces some beautiful tones, and will have you playing with a smile on your face within seconds of plugging it in. Delivering a warm and natural sound, this delay will ECHO all that you love about this effect genre…
Basically, a Bucket Brigade Device (or BBD) is an analog circuit contained within a small chip that delays an incoming audio signal. This “circuit-within-a-circuit” enabled analog delay to step away from the first delay effect created by tape, and fit into pedal form. The dark repeats associated with the analog echoes wash away in the background and don’t get in the way of your original guitar signal. The R-10 Nascar features a simple control section, made up of the usual suspects: Delay, Feedback and Mix. The delay time maxes out around 500ms, which is fairly standard for analog delays, maybe even a touch more than the old vintage units.
The classic sounds created by the Nascar Analog Delay appeal to any guitarists who love these classic tones, especially anyone on a budget. Nothing too fancy, but a pleasantly unexpected great sound for a pedal that will only cost you about 50 bucks. To hear this one in action, as usual, check out our demo video below – thanks to Joyo for letting us check out another excellent effect. We love the affordability of these units, and how they are built well and actually usable. Check out their website for more pedals and info, and stay safe!!
