We love to run a rig in stereo. I mean, who wouldn’t? Especially since we love Delay so much, and a stereo amp setup brings out the best in any good 2-output delay pedal. That said, it seems that modulation takes the majority of the cake when it comes to stereo effects, and today we’ve finally broken through that mold. The Dunable Splatterblaster Stereo Fuzz Distortion finally lets you run 2 different channels of dirt to 2 different outputs, giving your already killer rig an all-encompassing feel and presence.
The Splatterblaster, a pedal developed by Dunable Guitars and Damnation Audio, doesn’t just feature 2 outputs. It features 2 separate channels, one fuzzy and one distorted, that are both full of options and can be blended together as needed. On the “Splatter” side, you get a classic superfuzz circuit, with an additional boost for more power. Level sets the output, Boost sets the amount of boost and Splatter controls your gain. There’s a Tone toggle switch as well, for 2 differing tonal structures.
Over on the “Blaster” side, you get an ornery distortion circuit, with a range of sounds from shoegaze to death metal to Pink Floyd, and all stops in between. Level again sets the output volume here, and this side features a 2-band Low and High EQ section as well. Blast controls your distortion amount, and there’s another toggle here, 0/180, that flips the phase of the circuit. A Mono/Stereo switch rounds things out, letting you choose how you want this pedal to incorporate with your rig and amp setup.
With so many options and functions, there’s just about a million ways to run this thing, and a million sounds to be discovered. Light Grit to Grind to Sludge, Stereogaze to Gnarly to Heavy & Noisy, and everything in between. In our demo below, we run through some of our favorite settings we’ve found (so far), showcasing the range and power that can be unleashed from within this monster.
