Our first venture into the world of Sitek Guitar Electronics has turned out to be a wild one, folks. Today, we’re going to run through the Pandora Fuzz, a versatile, high-gain effects pedal that mixes some beautiful, natural upper octave tones in with the powerful, dirty fuzz. There are a bunch of controls and options on this one, so let’s dig right in!
The two main controls are Level and Fuzz on the Pandora Fuzz – pretty self-explanatory, right? As the Fuzz is turned up, the distortion becomes more saturated, and the overall sustain is also increased. The toggle switch allows you to choose from two clipping modes. The first (I) is a Symmetrical clipping option that uses two NOS germanium diodes, providing a more tight and compressed fuzz characteristic. The second (II) is Asymmetrical, favoring a pair of germanium and silicon diodes, which produces a more open and dynamic tone.
A couple of smaller controls are present here as well. Color controls the character of the sound – open and dynamic or compressed and saturated. There’s a Tone control as well, which modifies the frequency content of the fuzzy signal, with lows to the left and highs to the right. Equipped with a DeMont Smooth-Click footswitch, the Pandora Fuzz has also been wired for true bypass operation. Coaxing out a variety of sounds here is easy, ranging from warm fuzz to top end-rich distortion and many intervals in between. Open Pandora’s box of fuzz for that upper octave to become more prominent as well. Cheers to Sitek on a wild fuzzy creation – we’re looking forward to more effects from these guys, so stay tuned!
