There’s nothing ordinary about anything released by Audio Disruption Devices, as evidenced by their Optical Ring and L.A.G. pedals. If the name somehow doesn’t clue you in, they make. exciting, non-traditional noise boxes that push the limits of every genre imaginable. Our third visit from them brings yet another intriguing and off-the-cuff sonic adventure, the Eroder 3-Stage Fuzz. This magnificently yellow monster is about to unleash hell on the world….well, maybe just on your amp, alright?
The Eroder is a fuzz pedal, yes, but it consists of 2 boosts pushing an LM386 circuit, resulting in a dirty, overdriven amp-type sound. Stage I controls the amount of signal going into the first boost; Stage II sets the amount of boost being output from the 2nd gain stage. That then hits the LM386 IC stage, producing a multitude of crunchy tones. There’s a three stage toggle (high gain/low gain/medium gain) and a clipping toggle (LED/none/MOSFET) to vary the tonal options as well.
Output sets the master volume output, while Volts starves the IC stage, with a wide range of settings to explore. The Tone knob stems from a Muff-style filter, with the added Mids control to make sure you sit perfectly in any mix. As you’ll hear in the demo below, the Audio Disruption Devices Eroder 3-Stage Fuzz is just plain fun to play, that’s that. As soon as we plugged it in and cranked it up a bit, we knew we had something special to work with. Hats off once again to the A.D.D. crew – it’s always a surprise when something from them arrives, and so far they’ve all been incredible. Watch the demo, subscribe on YouTube and go grab you an Eroder STAT! Have a great weekend, everyone and stay safe!
