Yes, it’s true: we have another wonderful, awesomely-noisy creation from our friends at Beetronics for you. This one is a bit different, as it takes fuzz, distortion and octave flavorings, tosses them into a sonic blender and spits them back out with a random abandon few have ever known. The Swarm Analog Fuzz Harmonizer is its name, and it has come to play. Blowin’ out headphones and amps and anything else that gets in its path, this guy is the real deal.
Sounding like a thousand killer bees coming to get you, the Swarm takes your input signal and turns it into a square wave. It then multiplies and divides the frequency, giving you NINE possible harmonies in two differing octaves. On top of that, modulation is applied, going from a nearly perfect tracking harmony to a wild and uncontrollable swarm 😉 Worker sets your input signal level, while Species selects the harmonic interval. Use the Queen and Drone knobs to set the levels for each of the harmonies, which stay one octave apart.
Flight and Sting take it up a notch by setting the modulation, and are extremely interactive with one another. The speed of the Sting knob sets how fast or slow the harmonies will follow your playing, while Flight sets the modulation response. On the side is a Master volume, taking all of these lovely parameters, combining and exporting them to your desired level of terror.
Every control on the Beetronics Swarm Analog Fuzz Harmonizer works with all the others, making it an experimenter’s dream effect. Best played by instinct, with a dash of trail-and-error, this pedal will have you re-writing your musical journey for years to come.
