The Femtaur Boost Overdrive and Blazed Fuzz were the first two units we had the privilege to check out from Kink Guitar Pedals, and both were quite impressive. For Round Three, they wanted us to peruse the Absolution Fuzz V3, a pedal with some serious gusto and attitude (as if you couldn’t tell that from the graphics). Just a couple of knobs and one switch, this badass pedal will show you the true meaning of FUZZ.
The layout of controls for the Absolution Fuzz V3 is pretty straightforward: the big knob controls the Volume, the smaller top knob sets your Gain and the smaller bottom knob is your Tone control. There’s a toggle switch, too, which either adds or removes Bass from the sonic equation. The Absolution is a single transistor fuzz with a passive High Gain filter and a gain makeup stage. The tones achievable here have a great range, from wicked distortion to saturated fuzz to cocked wah and more.
The Kink Guitar Pedals Absolution Fuzz V3 isn’t flashy, or full of gadgets & gizmos, or all that tricky to figure out. It does, however, have the power to crush your speakers, as well as any eardrums nearby, so it’s got that going for it, which is nice. We’re loving these pedals coming over from Australia, and can’t wait to see what shows up next.
