Keeley Electronics DCR Drive Chorus Rotary

During these pandemic-laden times, when we’re hunkered down at home and hopefully working on some music, it’s nice to have the right tools for the job. Like today’s pedal, for example: the Keeley Electronics DCR Drive Rotary Chorus. Overdrive and modulation have always lived together in wonderful harmony, and the sounds escaping from this 3-in-1 effect will get all your creative juices a-flowin’.

The DCR features two overdrive profiles; one being full-range and highly saturated, the other combining a slight shelf filter and low-pass filter. These work perfectly for warming up or thickening any guitar, amp and rig you could think of. The Input and Output jacks double as TRS inserts, allowing you to insert any effect in between the Drive and Chorus, for even more sonic possibilities.

The modulation side boasts two types of modulation: a Chorus/Flanger pedal or a rotary-speaker swirl, ala vibrato or a Leslie. You can create thick, modulated tones, big, lush rotary sounds, powerful organ emulation and much more with these modes. Plus, the Drive section feeds right into the modulation, to stack and create magnificent saturation, vintage doubling sounds, syrupy and slick flanger jet swirls, too – the possibilities are endless.

The top-mounted jacks make fitting the DCR Drive Rotary Chorus easily onto any pedalboard, and the true bypass circuitry ensures your original tone remains intact even when the effect is bypassed. The TRS loop is a fun way to incorporate more effects into the chain as well, allowing for a ton of exploration and experimentation for years to come. As always, the build quality coming from the Keeley Electronics folks is second-to-none, which also means that your DCR will most likely outlast you, providing a lifetime of enjoyment. Hope everyone is staying positive in these crazy times we’re in at the moment, and perhaps our little demo video below will take your mind off things, if only for 11 minutes or so. Cheers to Robert and all at Keeley – we’ll have more of their gear coming up, as always, so stay tuned!
