Looking back, it seems we should have featured today’s pedal yesterday, as you can clearly see from the artwork (Happy Belated 4/20, all!). No matter, we’re still gonna crush some faces with the Blazed Fuzz, another killer effects from our friends Kink Guitar Pedals down in Cranbourne, Australia. The clearly Jamaican-influenced graphics are a stark contrast to the down-and-dirty sounds this pedal creates, but in absolutely the best way possible.
The Blazed Fuzz is a Muff-style pedal, though one that gets as doom-y, sludge-y and stoner-y as you could want. Using carefully selected diodes, it has been engineering towards the low end of the frequency spectrum, giving packing a big punch for bass, fattening up single coils and matching up perfectly with any drop tunings you can throw at it. The simple Volume, Tone and Gain parameters ensure ease of use, but don’t be fooled: there’s a lot going on inside this effect. The Tone and Gain knobs interact as if their very existence depends on it, altering and shaping the fuzz tones along the way.
There’s even an internal trim pot you can use to change the mid cut frequency, further allowing you to customize the Blazed Fuzz to fit into any rig. Not much more to say here, folks, so you’d better just give our demo below a listen and hear for yourself. This fuzz can be mellow and smooth, gritty and grimy and loud and proud in the blink of an eye, ensuring compatibility with players of all genres and walks of life. Shout out to our friends at Kink Guitar Pedals for this one – we’ve got more gear from them coming up, so stay tuned, and don’t forget to visit them on the old interwebs!
