Back in the day, we reviewed the smaller version of the Semaphore, one of the first tremolo pedals we had come across, and still one of our favorites. This version is an upgrade, combining the fantastic audio path with a bottomless feature set and killer tones pouring out of every possible space. Rate, Depth and Volume do what they do, setting the overall output as well as the speed and intensity of the effect. Add to that the choice of EIGHT different waveforms, plus Tap Divide, external tap tempo input and Expression capabilities, and you’ve got one of the most well-rounded tremolos in existence.
Not to mention that is works GREAT as a clean boost, if you need it to be, ’cause why not? The lush audio path will sculpt a gorgeous clean boost sound that is present and alive, without being peaky or harsh. The quadrupled number of waveforms from the original, including classic square, triangle, sine waves, ramping sounds, and a mind-bending random shape, give you more options than you’ll know what to do with. And, in conjunction with the Shape contour, which morphs the waveshape, the power and prowess of these numerous waveforms are just waiting to be unleashed.
