We all love pedals, but if you have a bunch of ’em that you use together, you’re nothing without a good power supply. There are small ones, medium ones, HUGE ones, skinny and fat ones and more, coming in all colors, shapes and sizes. The smallest one we’ve come across so far has been the PB-107 Power Box Lithium, from our pals over at Big Joe Stomp Box Company. Well, they’ve topped themselves, and have released the brand new PB-109 Li2 Lithium Power Box, just to prove that they can.
Utilizing the Smart Batter Technology Display, the Li2 provides info for % Battery Charge, Battery Time Remaining and Current Draw, which you can scroll through via the rubber selector on the front of the pedal. The 3-digit blue LED display contrasts perfectly with the new jet black anodized aluminum enclosure, making it easy to see in any light, or dark, situation. There are 2 single point ground 9v Outputs available, capable of delivering 1 Amp output. The included daisy chain cord lets you run numerous pedals together, without any signal loss or degradation.
As you can see in the image below, the Li2 is perfectly capable of handling multiple high current draw effects, represented here by the Strymon Timeline Delay, the Source Audio Collider Reverb Delay and the Wampler Terraform Multi Modulation:
A USB-C plug lets you charge the Li2 at your convenience, even when you turn it off, for conserving more power still. It can deliver the full 1 Amp output for up to 2.5 hours, and a full charge cycle takes about 3 hours or so. There’s even a USB Output you can use to power devices that can be charged via that method (it worked perfectly charging our iPhone).
