Old Blood Noise Endeavors Rêver Reverse Delay and Reverb

Weird, exciting delay and reverb pedals are always at the forefront of our minds, and we’re always wishing that more would come through the studio. Our wish came tru in a powerful way via today’s featured pedal, the Rêver Reverse Delay and Reverb from Old Blood Noise Endeavors. A collaboration between OBNE and the band Datachoir from Brooklyn, this monster of an effect will take you on a wild sonic ride, sure to open up your musical pathways and inspire you to take your sound in an entirely new direction.

The Reverb section here features controls for Mix, Modulation and Reverb Length, giving you a nice base from which to build your sound upon. The Delay portion boasts Volume, Delay Time and Feedback controls, which are fairly standard on a lot of delay pedals. Be forewarned: this is not your regular, standard delay (or reverb) pedal. The Reverse section just has one knob, and lets you control how prevalent the Reverse effect is in the mix.

An order toggle switch on the face of the pedal lets you choose if the Reverse or Reverb/Delay blocks come first. With the Reverse first, you get more of an ambient type of sound, while glitchy textures are abound when it’s placed after the Reverb/Delay. There’s also a separate toggle on the top allows you to keep the reverse latched at your selected blend setting, and the momentary button as a forward switch, or vice versa. You can connect an Expression pedal to control the mix of the Reverse, and there’s even an internal trimpot to control the output level, if you feel like venturing down that path.

Well, there you have the controls: now it’s up to you ti discover the many wonders that Rêver has to offer. For a quick taste, we’ve created a demo video below, which takes you through a sampling of the options and sounds available in this highly-creative and intense effect machine. You can find a good sound right off the bat, but the seemingly endless possibilities will be you engaged and enthralled for months and years to come.
