Mouse Electronics FatAmp MkII Mini Guitar Amp

Sometimes, the best things come in the smallest packages, and we’re definitely NOT kidding about that with today’s piece of gear. Heading outside our usual pedal zone, we’re taking a look at an amplifier today, though not one that you may expect. The FatAmp MkII from Mouse Electronics in Belarus is a small pocket amplifier, one that goes with you anywhere and everywhere, fitting into a jacket pocket, backpack, purse or fannypack….well, maybe not that last one, but you get the idea….

The FatAmp MkII measures just 2.36 x 3.54 x 4.13 inches, ensuring its portability and traveling prowess. With 1W of max output power, it’s not going to get you through a gig at Madison Square Garden, but is perfect for those of us musicians who are on the go, and don’t want to rely strictly on acoustic confines. The sound is perpetuated through a 2.56 inch speaker, and it runs on either a 9V DC power supply, or for around 4 hours time on a 9V battery.

This particular travel amp has one excellent feature that most amps this size tend to lack: 2 Channels! With the flick of the toggle switch, your sound goes from clean to distorted, perfect for a wide-ranging array of musical styles to choose from. Made of sturdy, high-grade wood instead of flimsy or cheap plastic, the FatAmp also looks really slick and sophisticated, a perfect conversation starter wherever you happen to be. Big applause to the team at Mouse Electronics for this one – while it won’t necessarily blow you away with power, its got enough where it counts, and will provide years of on-the-go electric playing for anyone who gets their hands on one. Don’t forget to check out our demo to hear it in action!!
