We haven’t had an acoustic effect come through the office in a little while, so we were more than excited to get to check out today’s pedal. The Align Series Acoustic Delay from L.R. Baggs brings a classic effect to acoustic musicians by optimizing the signal for high-fidelity instruments, and giving you a decent amount of options in a small package. Combing analog and digital circuitry qualities together for a powerful and convenient sound, this little beauty is just waiting to be unleashed.
Four knobs make up the main control section of the Align Delay: delay blends your wet and dry signals together, and repeats sets the, well, number of repeats. tone sweeps a wide range between warmth and clarity, and time controls the delay time. Hit the tap mini button to manually set the delay time, and use the div mini button to set the delay to dotted eighth note of the current tempo. If you’re feeling frisky, you can even connect an external device and control the tempo through an additional footswitch, if you need that kind of thing.
The controls available on the Align Delay create a luscious acoustic delay that compliments both rhythm and lead sounds, optimizing your signal specifically for high-fidelity instruments. The warm analog-ish tones and crystal clear digital echoes provide a wide range of sounds for you to choose from, enabling you to push the limits of you acoustic rig, and will help boost creativity and musical approach as well. It’s been a minute since we’ve had an L.R. Baggs pedal here, and this is a great way to jump right back into some acoustic effects from them. Cheers on an excellent delay, guys, and you all stay tuned for more pedals from them coming soon. Oh, and don’t forget to check out our demo below!
